Shopping in Apgujeong and Chungdam (the Rodeo Drive of Seoul)
The Hello Kitty Cafe (in Myeongdong or Hongdae... I forget! Maybe both)
The 63 Building (I haven't been yet... it's kind of far from my apartment)
Namdaemun (I want to see the Seoul North Gate, which was burned in an arson fire a few years ago. There's also a famous market here)
Everland (in Suwon... Korea's biggest amusement park)
Petit France (a miniature French village in Gyeonggi-do based on "Le Petit Prince"... it looks so cute and ridiculous)
Lotte World Star Avenue (kind of a miniature Hallyu museum. You can put your hands in Big Bang's handprints and take pictures and stuff. This was just in an episode of Secret Garden and I got really excited and remembered I want to go)
Trompe l'oeil Museum (in Hongdae, apparently in a hidden basement with only a computer print-out sign on the door. Some of my friends went here recently and I saw the pictures and they are amazing!)
Riding a bicycle along the Han River when the weather gets warmer... maybe also having a picnic!
Any suggestions?
Here are some of my favorite places that I've visited so far in Seoul:
Lotte World
Dongdaemun (the night shopping here is crazy! Apparently it picks up at midnight. Absolutely dead until 8 or 9 PM, though)
Myeongdong (a good place to go shopping for worldwide name brands and makeup, and to see Japanese people)
Jongno (good for a weekend night; lots of restaurants and bars)
Hongdae (Hongdae is probably my favorite place... so much to do! It's like it's never nighttime here. The streets are jam-packed even at 4 AM)
Gangnam (lots of shopping and food)
Kondae (similar to Hondae but a lot closer to me... I actually haven't been here in months! Another university area with bars, clubs, shopping, and restaurants)
The Leeum Samsung Museum of Art
The Leeum Samsung Museum of Art
The National Museum of Korea
Gyeongbokgung and Deoksugong Palaces
Coex Mall
Insadong (this area is famous for souvenirs but I thought there were lots of cute jewelry sellers here)
Hyehwa (the best coffee shop in the world is here! Actually, I don't drink coffee, so I wouldn't know, but it is so cute, and there is a HUGE DOG)
Bau Haus Dog Cafe in Hongdae
Nam San/Seoul Tower (a must for visitors)
Itaewon (blahhh.. obnoxious foreigner and army jerk central. I'd never seen a prostitute [knowingly] until I came to Itaewon. It's just dirty and gross. Still, it is a good place to go for foreign food)
Nowon (restaurants, clubs, and shopping. It's so far north, though, it's kind of a hassle to go there)
Times Square Shopping Center in Yeuido
Yongsan (there's a big shopping center here that has a CGV theater that plays lots of English movies; this is also where the Dragon Hill Spa is)
Outside Seoul:
The Garden of Morning Calm in Gyeonggi-do (they filmed parts of "You're Beautiful" here. We went here on a school trip)
Herb Island in Pocheon (I went here with Jae Hyun and it was really cute)
Ilsan (where Jae Hyun lives... it looked nice but, like Herb Island, I was too cold to enjoy it)
Busan (Korea's beach city. Very very nice. We're planning on going back for a weekend this summer)
Outside Korea:
Hong Kong (great weather and pretty cool although I was disappointed in some things)
Macau (AWESOME)
Beijing (I mean... the airport was nice....)
Anyway looking back on this list I realize I have done a lot of stuff! I didn't even mention a lot of things. I hope I can go to every place on my list soon :) But first, I think I should think about TOKYO! We are leaving in THREE DAYS!
