The best thing about Korean CDs is the packaging. Even a four-song mini album will come in an awesome plastic case with a huge book and a free poster. Tony thinks it's to boost album sales since most people in Korea can just as easily and legally, I think, download everything for free.
Being a big Big Bang fan, I pre-ordered the special edition fourth album from the YG E-shop and got it delivered the day it came out. What was inside?

The album, including a YG card (which you can register to get a Thank You box of virtual goodies) and a huge photo book.

Kewl poster!
The album has a combination of sons from the regular-edition fourth album and one solo song from Daesung, Taeyang, and Seungri, and two of GD & TOP's solo songs. It also has three new songs (one of them is the Daesung solo.) The first single is "Love Song," which one of my friends pointed out has a a U2 vibe going on:
I'm not entirely sure what's happening in this video because I haven't bothered to read an English translation yet but I think they are singing about how stupid love songs are when there are more important things in the world, like pollution, as evidenced by the beach full of trash. I don't understand what's going on with that weird dance, too, although I guess it's also making a statement about the insignificance of singing, dancing pop groups compared to all of the world's problems. The fact that this was shot in one long take really impresses me, although it's definitely possible that video editing these days has advanced far enough to stitch stuff together. If they could digitally stick Natalie Portman's head on the real dancer's body in "Black Swan," they could definitely edit this. Also it's kind of sad how TOP is so bad at singing they had to auto-tune his voice when everyone else is singing naturally. But it's kind of funny if you have seen the part in the Big Bang documentary TV show where he's like "I'm a good rapper... but a good dancer is better than a good rapper. And a good singer is better than everything" and looks like he wants to kill himself and like he just hates himself so much. Still, good song, and good video, although I wouldn't expect anything less from my boys.
When the heck are GD & TOP releasing the "집에가지마"/"Don't go home" video? They showed it at Big Show over a month ago..... where is it???! Srsly.
